Hi,

I have created shipment document and vehicle number as characteristics in CO-PA. Now when posting FI entries I want to choose the shipment document and vehicle number is profitability segment. When I click the profitability segment I get the pop up with shipment document and vehicle fields but when I press F4 it doesn't show me possible entries, as shown below it appears like this and it says no entries found.

I have maintained derivation rule- Table lookup in KEDR. I am using VTTK (shipment document table) where I have mapped shipment document to my characteristic named as shipment document. Based on that I derive vehicle number which /BEV1/RPMOWA field which is created as another characteristic.

But these values are not showing up in F4 possible entry list. Please help me with this ...

I split invoice depending upon tax codes in the sales order(enhancing a sample routine in VOFM and assigning it to copy control). But according to the requirement there would be some items in sales order with particular tax codes for which there should not be any split. For others split should occur. Right now my routine splits the invoice when it finds a different tax code. Can you guys suggest me a solution how can this be possible ? Thank you in advance.

Hi SDNites,

I have a scenario where I have to pick a file form the shared directory and read the file name which will be used as an input for RFC look up and then send the file as an attachment via email obtained from Look up.

Can you please guide me do I need to build IR componet for sender as I am not reading the file contents and how will I read the file name (I know we have to create UDF for the same) and pass it to RFC look up.

Multi level BOM

We're working with multi level BOM's in our prodcution process. So far we've setup several production orders to create the final good.

Is there a possiblity to include a multi level BOM in only production order?

Currently we're using the version 8.82. Are there further functionalities regarding the multi level BOM handling in any newer versions?

Many thanks for your answer!

Syclo Work Manager 6.1 over SMP 3.0 connecttest.bat exception

Hello,

I installed SMP 3.0.4 and ABAP Add-on on the back-end. Then I installed Work Manager application (actually, Customer Service 6.1.1.0).

I created the application on SMP as an agentry application. Authentication method is "No Authentication Challenge". App Specific Settings remained as default.

After that I wanted to test connectivity with the connecttest.bat script. I get the following error:

connecttest.png

I tried editting JavaBE.ini file and filling the fields beneath [TEST_LOGON]. Fields UID and UPASSWORD, but the script uses the SERVICE_LOGON anyway.

By the way, I cannot find agentry.ini file anywhere.

Moreover, when I open url http://<smpserver>:8080/SAPWM_CustServ on a browser I get an empty page.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Problem with start of DB in distributed environment

$

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me.

We have a problem with the startup of our sap instances when the database is running on another node.

The problem is, that the startdb doesn't find the remote database and start the database local on the node.

I have a flexframe infrastructure and all sap instances are single services like db, scs, ci, app

The Flexframe starts the services step by step in the correct sequence.

In the first step flexframe starts the database on the remote host correctly and

in the next step flexframe starts the ci.

In the protocols I find the successfull checks with R3Trans and TNSPING.

In the step "sapcontrol starts the instance" is implemented a wait of 10 seconds.

During this windows the startdb-script is running.

The tnsnames adapter resolves the alias correct.

After that step the function "check_db_running"

is running and this function starts the database local.

At the moment we stop the unconnected database-instance and the system works without any problems.

Here the protocols:

The startsap.trc has following infos:

    }09:40:47 ## restore_path() done

    EXEDIR=/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe

    EXECMD=/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe/R3trans

Decision Table does not return appropriate result set???

$

Dear All,

I followed How to create a MSMP BRF+ initiator rule using loop and table operation on SCN and built BRF+ rule accordingly. However, I have a small variation in my requirement. Instead of critical role level, I used Role Connector as the base condition.

I generated all the expressions, function and ruleset appropriately. While I simulating the function, I added a row and then under "Line Item" column, I entered a connector name manually. After that, when I simulated, this function does not fetch the desired resultset!

It is evident that some condition is definitely not met. I am not sure how and where to maintain the connector (ROLE_CONNECTOR) in the newly added row.

Can anybody please advise me to resolve this issue?

Actually, I am trying to determine a result based upon the line items in an Access Request. If I have connector line item ONLY, then it should fetch result A. Else if an Access Request has both Roles and System entries, it should fetch result B.

Can anybody please advise how to achieve this?

Regards,

Faisal

[Oracle] - New diagnostic event "wait_event[]" (and others) for troubleshooting / researching purpose with Oracle 12c

$

0

Introduction

A long time has gone since my last blog post on SCN in March 2014, but i was quite busy with Oracle RAC implementations and troubleshooting performance issues in the last month. It was a quite interesting time for me and i have learned a lot of new stuff about Oracle 12c and so in consequence this is just a tiny blog post about a new diagnostic event called "wait_event[]", which was introduced with Oracle 12c R1 (12.1.0.1). Oracle has re-engineered its kernel diagnostics & tracing infrastructure with Oracle 11g, which allows you to be much more detailed and extensive by tracing and dumping diagnostic / low level (internals) information. Please check the reference section for more detailed information about that "new" kernel diagnostics & tracing infrastructure, if you have never heard of it until yet.

Luckily Oracle has extended this infrastructure with several new events in Oracle 12c, which helped me to troubleshoot a "log file sync" issue a few weeks ago on Oracle 12c R1 (12.1.0.2). Basically said an user session sporadically waited on "log file sync" for a "long" time, even if the "log file parallel write" time was fast as always and no obvious contention, handling or load on "log buffer" (described very simplistic).

I tried to get a call stack trace only for this wait event in a separate (load simulation and testing) session as the issue occurs very sporadic and it should not harm the standard application. You usually use OS tools like DTrace on Solaris or oradebug on Oracle level, but it is very hard to capture this kind of issue (especially as the platform was AIX and not Solaris) as it only happens very rare and it is specific to one wait condition. The idea behind the whole effort was to get an idea and figure out, if Oracle runs a different code path when this issue occurs.

New diagnostic events in Oracle 12c

Let's cross-check the new diagnostic event capabilities with Oracle 12c first.

Oracle 11g (11.2.0.3.6)

Oracle_11g.png

Oracle 12c (12.1.0.1)

Oracle_12c.png

In sum Oracle has extended the infrastructure with 18 new events and you will notice a new event called "wait_event[]" in the RDBMS library with a description "event to control wait event post-wakeup actions". This sounds exactly like something that i was looking for.

However the syntax was a bit tricky (or i was just too impatient) and so i got the details from a good Oracle colleague.

SQL> alter session set events 'wait_event["<wait event name>"]  trace("%s\n", shortstack())';

So here is just a short example of this tracing capability and its output with Oracle 12.1.0.1 on OEL 6.4 (2.6.39-400.109.1) and Virtualbox 4.2.12.

SQL> alter session set events 'wait_event["log file sync"]  trace("%s\n", shortstack())';
SQL> insert into t values (11);
SQL> commit;
SQL> insert into t values (12);
SQL> commit;
SQL> insert into t values (13);
SQL> commit;

… and the trace file (in diagnostic_dest) looks like this for example:

2014-10-26 10:50:38.773
kslwtectx<-kcrf_commit_force_int<-kcbdsy<-ksupop<-opiodr<-ttcpip<-opitsk<-opiino<-opiodr<-opidrv<-sou2o<-opimai_real<-ssthrdmain<-main<-__libc_start_mains
*** 2014-10-26 10:50:44.905
kslwtectx<-kcrf_commit_force_int<-kcbdsy<-ksupop<-opiodr<-ttcpip<-opitsk<-opiino<-opiodr<-opidrv<-sou2o<-opimai_real<-ssthrdmain<-main<-__libc_start_mains
*** 2014-10-26 10:51:47.633
kslwtectx<-kcrf_commit_force_int<-kcbdsy<-ksupop<-opiodr<-ttcpip<-opitsk<-opiino<-opiodr<-opidrv<-sou2o<-opimai_real<-ssthrdmain<-main<-__libc_start_mains

You also can enable SQL trace (e.g. with waits only) to get the connection between each "log file sync" wait time and the call stack trace as the short stack dump is a post-wakeup action and called after the wait has finished.

It looks like this, if you combine both capabilities.

SQL> alter session set events 'wait_event["log file sync"]  trace("%s\n", shortstack())';
SQL> exec DBMS_MONITOR.SESSION_TRACE_ENABLE(waits => true, binds => false, plan_stat => 'NEVER');
SQL> insert into t values (14);
SQL> commit;
SQL> insert into t values (15);
SQL> commit;

… and the trace file (in diagnostic_dest) looks like this for example:

…
WAIT #139662026595296: nam='log file sync' ela= 1574 buffer#=3316 sync scn=1023722 p3=0 obj#=-1 tim=3813212804
kslwtectx<-kcrf_commit_force_int<-kcbdsy<-ksupop<-opiodr<-ttcpip<-opitsk<-opiino<-opiodr<-opidrv<-sou2o<-opimai_real<-ssthrdmain<-main<-__libc_start_mains…
*** 2014-10-26 10:56:50.841…
WAIT #139662026595296: nam='log file sync' ela= 732 buffer#=3318 sync scn=1023724 p3=0 obj#=-1 tim=3816960681
kslwtectx<-kcrf_commit_force_int<-kcbdsy<-ksupop<-opiodr<-ttcpip<-opitsk<-opiino<-opiodr<-opidrv<-sou2o<-opimai_real<-ssthrdmain<-main<-__libc_start_mains…

I hope you get the main idea behind this new capability and its range of application, even if you will not need it regularly by troubleshooting Oracle database issues.

If you have any further questions - please feel free to ask or get in contact directly, if you need assistance by troubleshooting Oracle database (performance) issues.

BO4 - Adding Unlinked dimension to block when multiple data providers in report

$
0
0

Hi,

We have a report 3 queries, 2 from 1  universe, 1 from another.

Can select unlinked dimensions and include in report - merged dimensions fine

e.g linked on customer no, product no  one data provider has cus address when try include says cannot drop here - object is incompatible.

Even same message if create this dimension as a detail object.

Interestingly if build report and select all at once can include the unlinked dimensions just get this behaviour when try add dimension at later stage.

Anyone know best way to avoid this - old XIR2 would behave O.K when used this as unlinked dimension.

Thanks
