We are planning to have a PO authorization workflow (outlook email notifications) using a user exit, not standard workflow for the release strategy. The reason is there is no identity (SAP User ID) for release codes maintained in the system. They are just release levels. (i.e.: Assistant Manager, Manager and CEO) Rather than changing the whole configuration we are planning to use an ABAP development by mapping release code, email and purchasing group in a different Z table.
Please give your ideas on this. Is it possible to trigger release possible release code and generate an email at the time of saving?
